Waterfowl Hunting Zone Map Amended Following Public Comment
During the Ohio Wildlife Council meeting on Wednesday, July 16, waterfowl hunting zones for the 2026-2030 seasons were amended in three counties following public comments on proposals submitted in April, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.

ODNR and Partners Celebrate the H2Ohio Moxley Wildlife Area Wetland Project
As part of Governor Mike DeWine’s H2Ohio Initiative, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) and the Erie Conservation District held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly completed wetland project at Moxley Wildlife Area in Erie County along Sandusky Bay.

Apply Now for Ohio’s Controlled Hunting Permits
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife is accepting applications for public land controlled hunts until Thursday, July 31. These hunts provide special chances for people to pursue deer, waterfowl, doves, pheasants, and more on public lands during the 2025-26 season.

ODNR Officer Named Boating Educator of the Year for Ohio and Northern U.S. Region
Natural Resources Officer (NRO) Travis Ferguson of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Parks and Watercraft has been honored by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) as the 2025 Boating Educator of the Year for the State of Ohio and the Northern Region Educator of the Year.

Enrollment Now Open for Ohio Landowner-Hunter Access Partnership
Landowners may now enroll their property in the Ohio Landowner-Hunter Access Partnership, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Enrollment in the program is open until Thursday, July 31 and incentivizes property owners to provide land access to hunters. Since the program’s launch in 2021, nearly 31,000 acres have been enrolled.
